The Dust Bowl [1930]

The Dust bowl was the result of a series of dust storms in the central United states and Canada. It caused by decades of inappropriate farming techniques. The fertile siol of the Great Plains was exposed through removal of grass during plowing. During the drought, the siol dried out, became dust, and blew awayeastwards, mostly in the large black clouds. At that time, the clouds blackend the sky all the way to Chicago, and much of the soil was completely lost into the Atlantic Ocean.

The “Dust Bowl Days”, also known as the "Dirty Thirties", took its toll on Cimarron County. The decade was full of extremes: blizzards, tornadoes, floods, droughts, and dirt storms.

This ecological disaster caused an exodus from Texas, Arkanasa, Oklahoma, and the surrounding Great Plains. The dust storm hits over 500,000 Americans left homeless and many migrated west to looking for jobs.

From this disaster,the Dust Bowl taught farmers new farming methods and techniques. The 1930's fostered a whole new era of soil conservation. Perhaps the most valuable lesson learned form the Dust Bowl - take care of the land. The Dust Bowl future is controlled almost exclusively by the weather. The prolonged drought combined with the meteorological phenomena of the 1930's was rare and never before tortured the Great Plains as it did. Droughts and winds still cause many problems, but most are averted and minimized with proper soil conservation.

EVE’s Bayon...[civil rights]

This is the story about one family consist of Louis Batiste, father, Roz Batiste, mother and three children, Cisely, Eve and Poe Batiste. Louis is a charming doctor who has a weakness for attractive women patients. One night of party at Louis’s home, Louis is flirting the married and sexy Metty Mereaux by they are not knowing that they is observed by his youngest idealistic daughter, Eve. She was afraid and shocked with what she saw incident. It is traumatic for her naivete and then she told a secret with her older sister, Cisely.

In the disc, I also watched one case alike Eve’s Bayon. It is about Dr.Hugo who is also charming doctor and he had sex with one woman patient.

I think sometimes Eve’s bayon is like mystery but it is also interesting movie which presents black people and their civil rights.

TUCKER[Cold War]

Tucker is based on the true story after world war II. Preston Tucker who is an inventor and he has a dream to produce best cars of tomorrow that ever made. He desinged the rear engine include aerodynamic styling, padded dash, pop out window, seat belts, fuel injection and disc breaks inside the car. This project, with the assistance of Abe Karatz and some impressive and professional salesmanship on his own part. Unfortunately, Tucker was accuse as he is fraud from the government, Bennington, who tried to change his design of car and colour. He and his family are in trouble. His plant is closed, he was charged and had to went to law court, to prove that he is not guilty. Finally, he won. Fifty cars were sold and his pattern of car live until now.

I like his patient and do not give up eventhough he faced with many problems. His family always beside him include his friends. Finally, he reach his dream as Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Midway [World War II]

It is the real situation, imitated the history in World War II. The war is between American and Japan at Midway Island,Pacific. At the beginning of the story, Tokyo was bombed and then the war become violence. Japanese carrier force, in an attempt to occupy Midway, they was successful and that is not the end of the story. American aircraft and carriers can attacked Japanese carriers and three carriers were destroyed. In the end of battle, Japanese side left only one carrier, Yamato. American side lose many soldiers and one carriers.

I admire each side that they are brave and used many tactics to fight to each other, to protect themselve and their country. This is good movie to learn history of World War II.

Kelly’s Heroes [World War II]

During World War II, a German Colonel is captureed by the American, RT. Kelly, to interrogated an artillery barrage hits the camp. Kelly manages to reach the German Colonel by get him drunk and learn that there are 16 million dollars in gold bar in the German bank located in Clermont. Therefore, he let his group, which divided into 2 groups, on led by MSgt. Big Joe and some Americans soldiers and the another group is led by Sgt. Oddball who is tank commander with big group. The first is attached by German during the way, their tanks and cars are destroyed so they have to walk and they met German, they fight together and this make group loose some men. The two group met again, gather into a large group, move toward to their destination.

They arrived Clermont, unfortunately, they still fight with host again. Finally, they can found gold bars and back to their home.

This is the one good movie. I also got entertainment from it. I think heroes might means to some soldiers who died during the way, they do their job as a protector for the group to reach the goal. This movie also has virtually no cursing and excess violence for audience.

Broadway Melodies 1929

Harriet or Hank and Queenie Mahoney, a vaudeville act, come to Broadway, where their friend Eddie Kerns needs them for his number in one of Francis Zanfield's shows. Hank and Queenie want to be member of the show so they tried to do everything until people in the theam accepted them.In real,Eddie was in love with Hank, but when he meets Queenie at first time, he falls in love to her but he never told this to Hank. After Hank and Queenie already join this show, Queenie become famous and then she is courted by Jack Warriner, a member of the New Yorker high society. Both of Hank and Eddie always told Queenie to stay far away from Jack because Jack treat Queenie is not more than a toy. At first, Queenie did not believe them and tried to against by do anything she want but after a party, she found that all the thing that she did not believe,it comes true. On the other hand, Hank knew something that Eddie did not love her anyway. Hank was so sad and decide to leave. In the end, Queenie falls in love with Eddie also and finally Hank leave from them.

This is black and white movie that present how value it has. It also show American tradition, broadway melody. People who want to dance and sing a song on the stage, they should have patient, attention, and talent in singing and dancing. Both of Hank and Queenie can be a good example because they have dream and in the end they can reach their goal.

OuR gAnG[GREAT DEPRESSION]

This movie "our gang" divide into 3 sections

First section : it is about a musical of children. The gang play musical on the stage. They sang and dance and dress and do like adault.

Second section : When the gang are in their school. They love their teacher so much but the gang heard that their beautiful teacher will marry with one man so the gang tried to obstruct and annoy that man. The true is that man is not teacher's groom but he is her brother!.

Third section : The gang in bear shooter. Children decided to camping on the one moring. Their group consist of 6 people. They use stagecoach to go to their destination. When they arrived, they seperate to work each duty. They did not know there are some man who saw them and tried to make the gang afraid by drees like a big bear. At first, the gang really afraid but then they tried to caught that big bear and finally they do successful.

I also like this movie because it show how lovely the gang are and that is really fun for me. The gang is also do as they are adault that is so lovely movie.
